NYXL not only were a powerhouse team (last year and) this whole stage, many analysts predicted them not only to go to the Grandfinals, but in fact BEAT Vancouver Titans who’ve been steam rolling everyone. Well, as it turns out NYXL are a team that struggle to perform when the pressure is on, in the 2019 Stage 1 playoff match against the Seoul Dynasty, a team that NYXL has never lost to including a 3-1 Victory in THIS stage, this time the Tigers had a gameplan that confused New York’s methodical style, playing a clean passive game in the goats mirror or spending a ton of resources and attention to focus down the Inaugural Season MVP Jjonak who was trying his best to carry the team even when being under attack. Between mishandling the front line battle early in the series, to falling short of big execution in the final fight with an ultimate advantage, NYXL choke against an opponent almost no one predicted to win, making for what the desk analysts of the Overwatch League are calling the Biggest Upset in Pro Overwatch History.
