“Devil May Cry 5” | Microtransactions Rant | Why I Don’t Care & Neither Should You

Devil May Cry 5’s microtransactions rant. Why I really don’t care and neither should you. What’s going on guys? RBG here, bringing you guys a different type of video on a topic that’s causing quite a stir in the video game blogusphere. And that’s regarding the recent discovery that Devil May Cry 5 will have microtransactions. Now I didn’t really feel the need to make a video discussing this but a ton of viewers keep asking me to talk about it on every DMC5 related video. So it’s best to just give you what you want and get it out of the way. Now the big question is do I have an issue with Capcom implementing this practice in Devil May Cry 5? And my answers is that I don’t care. It was never really something that warranted any energy getting upset about. Because I’m pretty sure that this has been said over and over. This is nothing new under the sun when it comes to the Devil May Cry franchise. Now I’m not saying that this business model should be accepted into today’s standard of gaming because it does depreciate the replay value of certain games. But it’s how companies go about their approach of adding in microtransactions. You see there’s two things people correlate incorrectly when it comes to the gaming industry. Greed & intrusiveness. Two words that get thrown around when things like lootboxes, DLC, and Microtransactions are brought up. We know that companies have been finding ways to slip in these shady tactics without receiving any backlash because they are greedy. Even though their titles are selling millions of copies and receiving accolades they can’t go without provoking players to spend extra cash on a game they already spent 60 dollars on. That’s that greed that I mentioned. Corporations are gonna be greedy no matter how you look at it. All of them are greedy even the 1’s that you show favor to. Now does that mean that a corporation’s greed can hamper your gameplay experience? Yes and No.
